ABOUT MILAN BUDHATHOKI
I am an experienced and goal-oriented Geospatial Specialist and educator. My interest in geospatial science blossomed during my pursuit of a master\'s degree in environmental science, which led me to complete a second master\'s in Geo-Information Science. I have contributed to several innovative GIS projects while working for local and state governments in the U.S. Over the past decade, I have been employed in an academic setting, providing technical consulting across diverse disciplines in research, teaching, and learning inspiration. Currently, I serve as the leader and manager of the GIS and Data Service Center at the University of Maryland Libraries. I oversee a team specializing in various aspects of geospatial data, data science, and data visualization to support the academic community. Additionally, I hold FAA certification as a Part 107 remote pilot and utilize Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) for earth observation research.
