About Milad O.
Milad has evaluated numerous high profile buildings in California for earthquake safety, damage loss, championed adaptive reuse, historic preservation and mandated seismic upgrades to vulnerable buildings for earthquakes. He\'s authored journal papers and conference publications in his field, disseminating to city, state and international audiences at SEAOC \'18 Convention, Chile WCEE \'17 Convention, COMPDYN \'15 Greece. He is an active member on code committees ASCE 7 & 41 national committees, and cochairs the Historic Task Group for SEAOSC’s Existing Building Committee focusing on archaic building systems and the California Historic Building for CALBO. He is a registered Disaster Service Worker for CALOES with ATC 114 training to evaluate building in post-earthquake reconnaissance. He has traveled internationally to Italy following the 2012 Emiligia-Romagna Italy earthquake led by Prof. Modena of the Univ. of Padua. Following years of experience in project-based firms such as Nabih Youssef, Degenkolb, and Wiss Janney. He currently practices under Jim Pearson (President/Partner) at Brandow and Johnston.
