About Mikolaj Pytel
As a former mountain bike coach, I have always been drawn to the challenges and rewards of helping individuals from different backgrounds and capabilities. I’ve had the honor of working with people of all levels and origins, having clients who were expert riders to beginners, and being able to work with athletes from as far as China and Zambia. One of my favorite duties in coaching mountain biking was helping people overcome their fears, and push their limits. I had countless unique people but my favorite person I’ve met was this gentleman named Alan who was in his early 70’s. Alan always kept a positive attitude and had the most unforgettable smile and laugh every time he failed or conquered a new obstacle. He always had something funny or interesting to say at all times, and I think he not only learned from me but I learned from him as well. Alan is just one of the hundreds of people I interacted with throughout my time as a coach. While English is my second language, the mountain bike community has always spoken my language, no matter of race or origin. Growing up, I was captivated by the idea of investing and how it could shape my future, sparking my interest in the stock market. During high school, I became serious about learning the skills of money management and investing and started managing my portfolio at 16. I studied financial principles and how they can be applied to everyday decision-making. My early spark of interest directed me towards the study of finance. My personal goals in the finance world stem from my passion for inclusivity and understanding people from different backgrounds and financial situations. Navigating the complex landscapes of both finance and mountain biking requires an understanding of strengths and weaknesses, as well as setting goals and adjusting strategies to meet changing mountain and market conditions. I want to utilize my education in the field of finance to develop financial strategies that cater to diverse populations. Leveraging skills in strategic planning, risk management, and communication, I want to develop adaptable financial strategies that mirror my coaching techniques. The world of finance, just like mountain biking, is dynamic and challenging. My journey from mountain bike coach to finance major symbolizes my commitment to using my knowledge and life lessons to make a meaningful impact on the financial world.
