About Mike Treasure
I work in hotels. And I’m pretty good at what I do. Of course, I can get you a preferred corporate rate and an upgraded room. Yes, we set up group room blocks with “quick links”. But serving business travel professionals is my passion. When you’re attempting to trim some fat from your corporate travel Policy, I can explain the Hilton “semi-flex” rates. But what motivates me is to help you understand the “hotel sweet spot”. As a travel Junkie myself, I flat-out love visiting new places, checking out different hotels, and engaging with other travel professionals! I have to acknowledge that I’m a hotel brat and stay at mostly Hilton and Marriott hotels. Partnering with thought leaders from other hotel management companies is imperative. There are always more questions, like “How can we create more business travel as demand increases?\"My Story:I have been working in business travel since 1984. Sometimes you are lucky enough to stumble into a job you love! Back in the day, I started with the Holiday Inn Pocatello, Idaho. One of my job titles was teaching my fellow employees how to engage with our guests and resolve concerns. Now 38 years later, I work as an Area Sales Manager for a prominent lodging company. I have been in management positions at Choice, IHG, Hilton, and Marriott hotels. After so many years of working in business travel, a few themes have emerged:• Overall value, travelers want upgrades and travel incentives, and reward points.• Travelers want a personalized experience where they are known and welcomed by name.• Lifestyle. Business travelers prefer not to stay at economy hotels. Proximity is important; however, they want a fitness area, food areas, and common areas to conduct business in.Previously, I was the property sales director at Hampton Inn Provo, UT. As the leader of our sales team, we achieved many sales awards. That included an average of 7% sales growth yearly, consecutively from 2012 through 2017. During that time, I was part of the Interstate Hotels sales excellence team. I was privileged to be on the sales award cruise (twice!) that went from San Juan Puerto Rico to the Eastern Caribbean. My process is about building rapport. Finding the pain points of my business travel friends and companies is my quest, then providing solutions. Most of my account contacts have my cell number and text me, regularly! Contact me at m••••••••@hilton.com to see how I can help you get more for your travel experience.
