About Mike Schmiess

One time in high school, I was ripped-off by an auto mechanic. Questioning the morality of mankind and wondering how such lies could be told straight to my face, I arrived at a conclusion that would ultimately steer my career path: I have the ability and potential to repair my own vehicle, saving me the pain and anguish of being deceived. It was a simple conclusion, but one that unknowingly sparked my interest in Mechanical Engineering.I enjoy creating, designing, repairing, fixing, building, and improving, but most importantly, I enjoy when those are done well. It has been said that anything worth doing is worth doing right. I adamantly believe there are few things better than hard work done right the first time.I believe in improvement: enhancing lives, developing smarter technologies, creating more efficient energy, and making the world a better place to live. This is where I find beauty in Mechanical Engineering. It is a discipline that allows me to combine my physical knowledge and mechanical abilities with creating, designing, and building in order to produce lasting, high-caliber products that can make a significant positive impact on the world.
