About Michael Ryan
Emmy-Award winning Digital Media strategist. Strengths include platform development, consumer experience, branding and ability to develop deep, complex strategies in a clear, executable manner. Experience working across entertainment, technology and media sectors, acting as an inspiring executive who is adept at leading teams, working with internal and external partners and interacting with c-level executives. Owning the user-experience and creating a compelling daily touchpoint for the audience has been a key component for my entire career, regardless of the medium or demographic. This began at the outset of my career as a television writer, working for The Walt Disney Company, National Geographic, Travel Channel and PBS. During this time, I wrote over 100 hours of produced programming and received a nomination for the Humanitas Prize. The same care for engaging the audience continued as I transitioned into an interactive producer for Disney.com and Disney Channels Worldwide I produced hundreds of games and activities resulting in millions of interactions for kids of all ages. The strategy and execution of the Disney Channel Games experience resulted in the 2007 Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Interactive Television. My current roll as Executive Director at Disney Media Entertainment Distribution (DMED), Cnosumer Experiences and Platforms, I am responsible for the games and interactive strategies and production for kids\' properties, including Disney Channel and Disney Junior. Primarily, I lead a team of talented strategists and producers who build out games, interactive videos and digital experiences on the DisneyNOW app.
