ABOUT MIKE PAVITT

I am an experienced insolvency lawyer based in the Central South of England, interested in all types of instructions from (pretty much) anyone, anywhere who is affected by an English law insolvency-related issue upon which they feel they need professional guidance. I have experience dealing with issues in a wide variety of sectors and for all types of stakeholder. I am a Partner in Paris Smith, a leading regional law firm with its HQ in Southern Hampshire, offering a full range of legal services to businesses, organisations and individuals alongside a national outlook, reach and influence. Our long history, particularly in Southampton where the firm began in 1818, means our expertise is deep and our networks wide. We are independently recognised in each of our practice areas which cover key aspects of personal and business life and this ensures that my team’s work is hugely varied and that every day brings me a fresh challenge. My team supports the firm’s extraordinary client base, from lenders to landlords, all manner of businesses, insolvency practitioners and individuals in all personal and corporate insolvency scenarios, advisory, transactional and contentious. I have spent the vast majority of my legal career in or around the insolvency industry, developing along the way a great deal of experience acting for overseas-based clients, building on my experiences of living and working in other jurisdictions. I enjoy an extensive network of contacts and I am a recognised authority on insolvency law, best practice and policy. Legal 500 lists me as a Leading Individual for Insolvency and Corporate Restructuring in the South, and Chambers and Partners also gives me U.K-wide recognition for personal insolvency.
