I lead a team of professionals focused on building strategic alliances and partnerships to support a public policy framework that advances the technology industry and empowers our customers. My experience spans over 25 years of issue advocacy, political campaign organizing, public affairs and business alliance work. I currently serve as Senior Director of U.S. Government Affairs for Microsoft in Washington, D.C. My work allows me to collaborate with partners, industry trade groups, think tanks and other NGOs on a wide range of issues. I am responsible for mobilizing a diverse network of thought leaders in support of a broad range of tech policy issues at the federal and state levels.

   Mike McMahon currently serves as Senior Director of U.S. Government Affairs for Microsoft in Washington, D.C. In this role, McMahon specializes in working with Microsoft’s technology partners, industry trade groups, think tanks and other NGOs on a wide range of issues that are important to Microsoft and the technology industry. He is responsible for mobilizing a diverse network of advocates in support of a broad range of tech policy issues at the federal and state levels. With more than twenty years of work on election and issues advocacy campaigns at the federal and state levels, McMahon has served in a number of roles including field, communications and political management. He started his career traveling the country working on more than a dozen political campaigns including three Presidential and seven state races. He later served as Vice President of Field Operations for a Washington, DC based public affairs agency before moving to Seattle, Washington to be a Manager on Microsoft’s External Affairs team. McMahon currently resides in McLean, VA with his wife and four children.
