About Mike Knoll
Stability – Whenever I take on a new role I assess what works well and what could be improved. Understanding both establishes a plan to ensure the foundation of whomever I am serving is strong. Throughout my career I have been able to improve products, optimize processes, and build strong teams by taking time to listen, chart, and gain depth to opportunities presenting themselves.Vision – I believe organizations must have “North Star.” The path is not always a straight line however the direction must be visible. Spending time with my team and stakeholders/partners to explore and define where we are going is motivating and necessary. Everyone needs to understand their part in a three-year strategic plan that leads to our vision.Finish – In my experience, many companies are excellent at starting work yet fall short in finishing. I prefer to keep the focus on the finish; start with the end in mind. The complexity of our work requires many threads to be in flight at the same time, yet not so many we become tangled in a web. My teams have said how much they appreciate my ability to keep focus, integrating necessary changes along the way, and being able to make concise decisions based upon the input they provided.Community – This is the most important aspect of all. We are all part of many communities; family, friends, school, and work. Organizations who serve others, helping them to achieve their mission/goals at the same time as improving the community is where I want to be. In pursuit of that goal, we can become a strong community as well. We are a team, we are a community.
