Crafty Apes® is a full-service visual effects and post-production company started in Los Angeles, with additional studios in Atlanta, New York/New Jersey, London, Montreal, Vancouver and Australia. Founded in 2011 by three visual effects veterans, Chris LeDoux, Tim LeDoux, and Jason Sanford, we now have over 500 talented artists and production staff working to build and share in Crafty's success. Beginning as a VFX (visual effects) studio for film and TV, Crafty Apes has grown to include a talented roster of creative supervisors and production management professionals that offer a full suite of VFX and post-production services, including on-set supervision, VFX consultation, and high-end CG and previsualization services.
Its capabilities include 2D and 3D CGI, digital asset creation, lidar scanning, Mocap (motion capture), rotoscoping, modeling and texturing, rigging, composting, digital matte painting, animation, lighting, FX (effects) and CFX (Character Effects) and the development of new machine learning and artificial intelligence tools for VFX production and post-production workflows.
