Mike Kitson is the founder of Kitson Creative, a print, brand and digital marketing agency. Kitson has helped more than business executives, entrepreneurs and marketing professionals for over 20 years. Mike graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in Journalism in 1992 with an emphasis in advertising.    My physical practice of yoga, in a studio, has enhanced my life off the mat. My friends and family have shared that they\'ve notice a positive shift in my life. I noticed I became more mindful. I was able to slow down and reduce my anxiety in stressful situations. I gained a whole new insight about myself while going through yoga teacher training. I learned that I liked certain advanced poses because they fed my ego. They still do, but I\'ve learned that there\'s a time and place for them. I teach more beginner poses because I\'m aware of my students\' abilities. If a student wanted more advanced poses, I would recommend one of many amazing teachers.Sharing the benefits of a yoga practice and how practitioners and aspiring practitioners can age gracefully brings a smile to my face. I chose to focus my teaching around beginners and intermediate students. I teach a gentle Vinyasa (flow) class. I encourage students to practice their yoga. Where they are on the mat at that moment. If poses are too challenging, I encourage students to modify the pose. I want students to be safe and avoid injuries.A consistent yoga practice has improved the quality of my life. Few people know that I have anxiety. I don\'t usually let others know about it, but it eats me up inside. My yoga practice has taught me how to breathe. I don\'t recall ever having someone teach me how to breathe. Now I use breathing it at my desk or when I might be dealing with a difficult situation. The benefits continue to unfold the more I practice. I invite you to find a community-based yoga studio. Reno has so many wonderful studios to choose from. You\'ll know when you find it.
