Supervise a team of five buyers to execute the procurement of sheet and fabricated metals used for medical devices with annual spend of $50M. •Manage and develop relationships with 140+ local and global suppliers to optimize supply base. •Negotiate and develop master supply agreements (MSA) – long term plans that outline expectations including but not limited to: cost, quality, logistics, safety, and delivery. •Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, engineering, and procurement leadership to identify and resolve project barriers while maintaining project timelines. •Conduct plant visits to analyze manufacturing key performance indicators (KPIs) including cycle time, down time, and hourly/daily production to assess manufacturing efficiency; implement process improvement initiatives as necessary. •Analyze technical drawings and supply base to identify ideal suppliers for upcoming medical device projects based on expertise; work cross-functionally with engineering to implement modifications that result in cost-savings. •Conduct market research/analysis and business development initiatives to identify new value-add suppliers and optimize supply base. Key Highlights & Accomplishments: •Adapted quickly to the COVID-19 pandemic by working on a 100% remote basis. •Spearheaded an e-Quote competition with 15 prospective metal suppliers to procure 300+ metal parts; this competitive bid resulted in identifying $1.4M in cost savings amongst the top 105 parts and $1M across 90 smaller components. •Successfully onboarded three new suppliers and currently in-process of onboarding the remaining 12 prospective suppliers with anticipated completion date of 2021. •Served as a key resource and consultant in Implementing the “Go and See” method to conduct plant visits based on methodologies and experience acquired at Toyota; developed a high-level report to summarize findings and provide visibility to leadership.
