About Mike McCann
I have been in the business development field for over 20 years with over 1,500 business articles and over 85 public speaking engagements, learning, applying and sharing new techniques that consistently succeed (those that don’t work are quickly dropped). I have been on hundreds of radio, TV and podcast shows as a guest covering various business topics.My emphasis is helping professionals wanting to make a high-level presentation to the executive suite “connect” with these executives for an appointment.In speaking, workshop and training presentations, I use physical props and relevant humor to engage the audience and open up the audience for active learning.The first successful business development technique I used was creating and mailing business-like, personalized Hallmark notes to senior-level executives with the intention of securing an appointment. This technique continues to be very successful.Beginning 2025, I began (and continue) to deep dive into learning and applying AI. Goal: Use AI as an assistant in business development and content creation. In my weekly LinkedIn “Executive Connections” column I share successful tips and techniques from firsthand experiences on “connecting” with senior-level executives for presentations.In my weekly LinkedIn “Turning Lemons into Lemonade” advice column I answer two business questions every week from readers and customers seeking answers to their business challenges.Starting September 2024, I began making organic dark chocolate bars because I like quality chocolate and it was not available short of ordering directly from Europe. One of my successful business development techniques is sharing my organic dark chocolate with executives and executive assistants.
