About Mike Hayes
I am an Innovator in ministry who has been “a starter” for most of my career. Starting the award winning BustedHalo.com ministry with the Paulist Fathers in began a great 25 year career in ministry with young adults.Starting the new Young Adult Ministry office and working there for five years in the Diocese of Cleveland has conitnued to hone my expertise in Ministry, media and social communications, enabling us to revitalize regional ministry efforts and a podcast. With a focus on developing emerging leaders and crafting impactful media content, I was committed to nurturing the spiritual growth of young adults and broadening the reach of the diocese’s outreach.Presently, I am in 3 new roles where I am designing support networks for chaplains in hospitals and prisons, along with a new outreach to active deacons.As Director of Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations at the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland my mission is to bridge faith communities through dialogue and educational initiatives. Our team is dedicated to fostering understanding across diverse religious traditions, and my role as the Bishop’s representative is pivotal in crafting meaningful interfaith interactions.A preacher and spiritual director at heart, my parish ministry at St Chris in Rocky River centers on regular preaching, podcasting, strategic planning with the staff (using Pope Francis’s “Conversations in the spirit), OCIA accompaniment and marriage preparation.
