About Michael Hathaway
I am a fiduciary financial planner and advisor at Epsilon Financial Group, an independent, fee-only wealth management firm. I have spent more than 20 years working in corporate and personal financial planning, with a deep interest and knowledge base related to personal taxes and saving clients money on taxes related to their investments, equity compensation, retirement savings and estate planning. I do not sell products to my clients; I provide them valuable advice - on Social Security claiming strategies, using various retirement savings accounts (IRAs, Roth IRAs, and 401ks), optimizing for asset location, tax-efficient investment planning, and the many other day-to-day financial decisions we all face.I am known for being compassionate and caring deeply for my clients, and for their financial well-being. I prioritize building long-term relationships with my clients, seeking to understand their purpose, values, goals and objectives. I enjoy listening to my clients, asking questions and taking the time needed to hear their stories, specifically as they concern money. Bringing all of this together, I help my clients align the use of their finite human capital (time, energy, attention and financial resources) with their purpose and values. I currently hold the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®), the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®), and the Retirement Management Advisor (RMA®) designations.I received a BS degree in Cybernetics from UCLA, and an MBA in Finance from the University of Virginia.
