About Michael Barber

I’m a CPA, and Senior Financial Manager with experience primarily in Commercial lending. My current experience is in information technology, which is an expansion of knowledge for me. Prior to that I had a long tenure in commercial leasing. I also had a long tenure with the commercial finance arm of Citigroup and The Associates. As Controller for DataSpan, I was responsible for financial reporting, audit, A/P, A /R and am part of the management team. Other responsibilities include Human Resources, Payroll and liaison with our accounting outsourcing team.As Controller for Premier, I was responsible for financial reporting to our banks and PE firm, audit, A/P, A /R, Treasury Management and was a member of the Senior Management team. While at Citigroup/The Associates, I successfully undertook a wide variety of accounting/finance roles ranging in complexity from using multiple general ledgers and related journal entries to leading cross functional teams in implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley 404. I was also an interim controller and the lead accountant on several mergers and acquisitions, systems conversions and enhancements. I have directed, managed or worked on segment financial reporting, adhoc reporting and SEC reporting. I have also managed the internal control process and related reporting for finance/accounting. In addition to my experience in the commercial lending industry, I led accounting functions for an oil and gas company. I am a Cum Laude graduate of Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas, with a BA in Business and Economics.
