About Mike Gase

Responsible for Corporate Quality Control/Quality Assurance for structural steel erection operations at Midwest Steel. This includes assisting Project Management, Estimating, and Field Installation team with a \"go to\" person to answer questions for welding, nondestructive testing, construction testing, materials, and numerous other questions that arise. I also perform supplier audits, field inspections, develop welding procedures, maintain AISC and PCI Certifications, initiate failure analysis when warranted, and participate in national standard code committees including the American Welding Society and the American Institute of Steel Construction. I have over 35 years of experience with welding inspection, nondestructive testing, failure analysis, project management, and consulting services for a variety of industries and clients in the US and around the world. Certifications include: AWS Senior Certified Welding Inspector (SCWI), ASNT Level - Magnetic Particle Testing, and former SNT-TC-1A Level II in Ultrasonic Testing and Liquid Penetrant Testing. Experienced in PAUT set up and testing; Precast Certified Field Auditor LEED Green Associate.
