About Mike Dickey
Mike Dickey is a serial entrepreneur and engineering leader with a passion for building impactful software products from the ground up. He taught himself to code in the 1980s by typing game listings from Rainbow magazine into his dad’s Tandy Color Computer, and went on to found his first company while still in high school—ultimately leaving Carnegie Mellon to pursue entrepreneurship full-time.Over the past three decades, Mike has founded four startups and successfully exited three, including Cloudmeter, which was acquired by Splunk in 2013 and became the foundation for Splunk Stream. At Splunk, he held senior roles across Engineering, Architecture, Infrastructure, and Product Management, helping the company scale performance testing and hybrid cloud infrastructure to support petabyte-scale data volumes.Most recently, Mike co-founded JackTrip, a public-benefit corporation delivering ultra-low latency audio and HD video collaboration tools for musicians and creative professionals. The company originated as a research project at Stanford University and evolved into a commercial platform during the pandemic, powered by distributed, container-based infrastructure optimized for global, real-time performance.
