ABOUT MIKE DESEVE

For over 30 years, I have worked in the Public Safety sector. Starting at Positron (which would later become Intrado), I held many positions. I first started in Mechanical Assembly, then went into Shipping where I quickly became Supervisor, then I moved into Inside Sales where I was responsible for entering sales orders into our system, and ensuring that the shipping date was met. From there I moved into the Proposals Group due to my strong product knowledge where I started out doing price quotes before transitioning into responding to proposals in 2001. In 2014 I was promoted to Manager of the Proposals group, guiding 8 people across Canada and the US in responding to bids and tenders, as well as preparing price quotes. I was promoted due to my strong product knowledge, leadership, and excellent Customer Service skills. During my tenure as manager I implemented multiple process improvements designed to increase productivity and reduce error rates. I was the recipient of business excellence awards from my employer in the past, which demonstrates my commitment to excellence in the workplace. In October 2020, I was one of the victims of a Company reorganization. After a brief sabbatical, I went to work for Mark43 in November, 2021 a CAD/RMS company, where I was engaged as Manager of the Proposals team, managing a smaller 2-person team in responding to bids and tenders. In June, 2022, Mark43 laid off over 20% of their workforce, including myself. In November 2022, I was engaged by SoundThinking (formerly ShotSpotter) as a Proposal Manager, but this time only writing and responding to Proposals, and not managing a group. SoundThinking provides gunshot detection systems, as well as other software for law enforcement. This opportunity was under contract, which has expired.
