Created HarmlessLion for video game development (been an LLC a couple of times when it got very serious). Owner and development lead - lead software development, design, coordination of art, audio and software contractors. Primarily for doing internal game development but we have taken on a number of contract projects. Working on both modern (NDS, XBox360, Windows, Wii) and classic systems. Were licensed Nintendo developers for DS, DSi and Wii.

ABOUT MIKE BRENT
My skills primarily center on low level or Embedded software development, in particular I have experience with DSP, PPC, ARM and Atmel based systems (as well as numerous older systems such as TMS9900, 6502 and Z80, thanks to my console experience.) Nobody gets to play with bits forever - I\'m also very experienced with Windows and Linux development, including Win32 and MFC - particularly under C/C++.I dabble in as many systems as I can, meaning I have also worked on Windows Kernel, Linux (user apps and kernel drivers).NET, and bare systems without any OS at all. I\'m highly proficient in C/C++ and did a bit of work in C#, which I enjoyed. My diverse experience helps me be relatively language agnostic and given a short ramp-up period I can work with whatever you have. For example, I have relatively recent experience with Perl, PHP, Python, Structured Text and more, including custom, application-specific languages and assembly language.I have particular experience in Telephony, TCP/IP, EtherCAT, CANopen, hardware drivers, system design and implementation, and particular interest in real-world applications, robotics, gaming, embedded and back-end data handling.What I am not: I am NOT an algorithm guy. I look those up. If your project requires someone who needs to generate a prime number sieve, and somehow you can\'t just look it up yourself, I\'m probably not your guy. Likewise, tests that are \"to see how you solve problems\" which just echo university classroom problems like lattice paths or big numbers are only testing how well students remember the exact assignment from class - not problem solving.
