Coordinates and directs the handbell music program with the overall music ministry in the church. Selects music to be performed for church services or, occasionally, in the community. Plans and conducts the weekly rehearsals. Occasionally writes and arranges special music to be performed. Attends national handbell workshop events to remain current in the latest handbell performance techniques. Coordinates with other handbell directors in town and occasionally performs in other church groups as a substitute ringer. A charter member of the Bells of the Hills, a community handbell group in Rapid City which promotes the art of handbell ringing. The Bells of the Hills was the first community handbell organization in South Dakota.
