About Michael Brambila

I retired just shy of 32 years of service. When I started my career, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department had three Area Commands, when I retired there were nine. I worked in various assignments, giving me a broad perspective in law enforcement. I hold all three of my Nevada POST certificates (Basic, Intermediate and Advanced).I started my career in patrol, working a combined fifteen years in Patrol. Two and half of those years, serving as a Field Training Officer (FTO). Other assignments included In-Service Training (Advanced Training), Firearms & Tactics Training (full-time Firearms Instructor/Range Staff member), and Academy Training (TAC Officer). I was also a Recruiter in the mid a time in which we hired several hundred officers, which involved traveling out of State, to various recruiting events, seeking the best candidates possible. In 2012 I successfully completed a 90 day TDY (temporary duty assignment) in our Air Support section as an observer (Tactical Flight Officer). This was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences in my career. Catching bad guys from 500\' AGL was another great experience in serving my community and assisting fellow officers on the ground.From 2013 through 2015 I was assigned to a Problem Solving Unit (PSU) at one of our area commands, providing me an introduction to investigations. I was later selected to work in our Community Oriented Program team. I continued my community oriented policing on a larger scale (valley wide) through our Support Operations, promoting our See Something Say Something campaign, specifically targeting potential terrorist related threats in our community.Soon thereafter, I worked two and half years as a detective out of our Homeland Security Division, conducting various investigations regarding domestic and international terrorism, including potential mass casualty incidents on a valley wide scale.My last assignment prior to my retirement was Patrol Sergeant working with highly motivated and disciplined officers serving the northeast Las Vegas community. I am eternally grateful for those I served with and the opportunities afforded to me to be a part of something greater than myself. Currently I’m part of a team (Contract) of Part 107 sUAS Pilots and Trainers that are sharing our excitement and vision of BRINC drones and it’s capabilities in providing realtime information, saving lives and mitigating deadly force encounters.
