ABOUT MIKE THORNTON
I am Chief Executive of Energy Saving Trust, leading our work to address the climate emergency: as this worsens, our mission is more important than ever. At Energy Saving Trust we are working to deliver a zero carbon society; reducing carbon emissions from buildings and transport across the UK and further afield. I have over 30 years’ experience working within the environmental, energy efficiency, transport and recycling sectors. I have expertise in climate change mitigation at an individual, organisational and national level and help drive forward the climate change mitigation agenda across the UK and internationally. I am a core member of the Climate Emergency Response Group (CERG), which aims to inform and influence the Scottish Government\'s response to the climate emergency by providing practical, implementable solutions. I am also a member of the Scottish Council for Development & Industry Clean Growth Leadership Group. I am Chair of the Scottish Power Foundation and have served on several government clean energy working groups. Currently I am chairing the Scottish Government\'s Heat Pump Sector Deal expert advisory group.
