I am responsible for overseeing all aspects of golf operations at Galt Country Club, working closely with our team to deliver a high-quality, member-focused experience.My role includes leadership of the Golf Operations and Member Services teams, tournament and league programming, instruction and player development, retail operations, and the day-to-day details that keep the golf operation running smoothly.I work closely with club leadership, committees, and industry partners to support ongoing improvements, while always keeping the member experience at the center of every decision. I’m proud to be part of a club with a strong sense of community and a team that genuinely cares about what we do.

ABOUT MIKE SKIMSON
Golf has been a constant presence in my life for nearly three decades, evolving from an early passion into a career centred on people, leadership, and community.I am a PGA of Canada Class A Professional and currently serve as Director of Golf at Galt Country Club. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to work across a wide range of roles within the industry — from private club operations and membership services to high-performance instruction and competitive junior golf. Each experience has shaped my approach to leadership today.What I enjoy most about my role is working alongside a dedicated team to create an environment where members feel welcome, supported, and proud of their club. Whether it’s enhancing golf operations, supporting tournaments and leagues, developing instructional and player development programs, or mentoring staff, I take pride in contributing to a positive and well-run golf experience.One of the realities of our industry is that much of the season is spent in full sprint. There’s always more to do, more to improve, and more to deliver. Over time, I’ve learned the importance of occasionally stepping back to reflect on progress, recognize growth, and appreciate the collective effort behind meaningful change.I value collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement, and I’m grateful for the relationships I’ve built with members, colleagues, and industry partners throughout my career.Always happy to connect with fellow professionals, club leaders, and those who share a passion for the game and the communities it brings together.I believe golf is at its best when it brings people together — and I’m proud to be part of an industry that does exactly that.
