ABOUT MIKE PIERCE

As a highly skilled and experienced software professional with nearly 20 years experience, I have built a successful career in software engineering, with a focus on front-end development. In recent years, I have also added expertise in strategic planning and complex change management, and in supporting organisations to adopt better Agile practices. I have a keen interest in emerging technologies such as AI/ML and 3D technologies. I\'m keen on exploring the uses of the former both as part of a typical SDLC as well as domain specific applications, and the latter as a means for recreating and visualising physical spaces. I\'m especially enthusiastic about their potential applications in industries such renewable energy, sustainable construction & agriculture, transportation, and ecotourism. Currently, I am employed at Zolar, where I have consistently delivered results that exceed expectations. In this role, I have developed a reputation for my ability to stay organised, communicate effectively, and lead teams to success while navigating through a rapidly changing environment. In addition to my professional experience, I hold a degree in Internet Science & Technology from the University of Wollongong, completed in 2005. In my free time, I am a passionate woodworker and general workshop tinkerer, with my interestes branching ever further into areas like CNC machining, 3D printing, and electronics. I\'m also a keen gardener, and have a particular interest in permaculture and sustainable agriculture. Overall, I am a dedicated and motivated professional with a passion for technology and innovation. I am always looking for ways to learn and grow, and am eager to contribute my skills and experience to those I work together closely with.
