About Mike Panos

Mike joins Hackensack Riverkeeper with an extensive background in volunteer conservation fundraising and development. He has been involved with Ducks Unlimited for over 30 years and served on the national level as a member of the Board of Directors, National Development Committee and Membership and Event Management Committees. Also, Mike has served on local state committees and as State Chairman within the Ducks Unlimited organization. He has been elected President of the Bergen Catholic High School Alumni Association’s Board of Directors and has been involved throughout the years with their Development office. Prior to joining Hackensack Riverkeeper team, Mike was the Owner/President of Rockwood Corporation/Speedwell Target for 30 years which manufactured product for the Law Enforcement community. His passion for the environment and especially our local estuary has enabled Mike to continue the mission to protect and enhance the Hackensack River so we all can enjoy its pleasures for many years to come.

   Hackensack Riverkeeper defends the Public Trust resources of the Hackensack River watershed through environmental action, advocacy, education and litigation. As a citizen steward for the watershed, Hackensack Riverkeeper promotes responsible, sustainable development and works to remediate centuries of pollution and associated environmental damage. On behalf of the people and wildlife that depend on the Hackensack River, we work to protect, preserve and restore the fish and wildlife habitats that exist within the watershed
