   Citizens Medical Center

   Nov 2015 — Present

   Leadership and management of a 317 acute care hospital with nearly employees and 350 plus medical staff. Responsible for all aspects of the hospital\'s success including operations, physician relations, strategic planning, employee relations, patient safety, clinical outcomes, and community relationships. Includes management of several employed physician practices, ownership of the licenses for 9 long-term care facilities, a free standing community health and fitness center, four multi-story physician office buildings, a free standing outpatient imaging center,and home health agency, Report directly to the Board Chair and Governing Board. Key accomplishments- Turned around hospital financials from an inherited loss of $24 million to a positive $5 million over. Multiple strategies were utilized by our leadership team to increase net revenue, decrease costs, and ensure better payment- Have been recognizes as a five star rated hospital by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS)- Achieved the 86th percentile for overall employee engagement & satisfaction with Press Ganey national survey including 2500 plus hospitals- Organized annual \"Citizens Run Against Cancer\" to promote cancer awareness, with all proceeds to benefit cancer patients directly. Four successive years of half marathon & 5K with nearly 800 runners- Recruited multiple physicians and specialists to the community over the last 4 years- Renegotiated several physician contracts and significantly improved physician relationships - Revised medical staff bylaws in collaboration with physician leaders and key stakeholders without controversy, and with unanimous support. A result that had not been thought achievable- Managed through losses of $9 million from Hurricane Harvey with full patient evacuation, several renovations and repairs, back to full operations within several months.
