ABOUT MIKE OCONNELL
With 45 years studying and practicing Landscape Architecture, I believe passionately in the ability of good design to transform the mental health and well-being of current and future generations. I am one of the most experienced practitioners in the delivery of major green infrastructure, public realm and residential projects and have worked on the landscape design for over new homes.Whole project delivery as lead consultant from \'blank sheet to handover and beyond\' is a particular skill set, honed through the delivery of over 100 separate commissions in a wide range of procurement types all over the UK.Most recently I have been the Landscape Architectural lead on Royal Borough of Greenwich\'s multi-phased Greenwich Builds development, delivering 750 affordable homes for Greenwich Council tenants. I joined BCA Landscape in 1985, became an Associate in 1994 and then a Director of the company in July 2001. I was born in Liverpool (down by the docks) but brought up in Leeds before moving back to Liverpool in 1985 where I lived until 2022 when I moved to Formby. I\'m married to Gill Whittle with 2 young people, Arran and Ruby, my greatest creations!I am usually to be found outdoors, Forest bathing, cycling or climbing mountains with friends or my trusty whippet Harvey.
