Experience

  1. Computer Scientist

    FDA

    May 2009 — Present · US

Actively involved in establishing one of the most powerful High-Performance Computing (HPC) Centers in the World at FDA. • Creating a series of RAG systems using LLMs from Hugging Face.• Creating numerous Singularity Containers deployed on an HPC cluster.• Software Scaling and Migration to massively parallel supercomputers: collaborating with scientists from various centers and offices of FDA to migrate their software applications to the HPC platforms. • Distributed Deep Learning on HPC clusters.• Broadening the range of availability of computational models and analysis tools for greater computational capacity and more complex analysis to aid in regulatory decision making.• Developing Parallel Programming techniques based on Multi-threading, Message Passing Interface, Array Jobs to transform serial programs into parallel programs written in various languages: C/C++, MPICC, FORTRAN, MPIF90, R, SAS, Octave, Python, MATLAB. • Deploying Slurm, SGE, MOAB/PBS/TORQUE, OpenMPI, MPICH2 for massively parallel algorithms.• OS: Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu), Windows, Mac OS.• Advanced scripting techniques in shell, AWK, SED, Perl.• Creating Guidelines, Presentations, Wiki pages, conducting workshops and giving lectures on Advanced Parallel Programming techniques, Software Migration to parallel architectures, accessing and using HPCC resources.• Interactome project of National Center for Toxicological Research - a remarkable example of the Software Migration. This project would require nearly 1,800 years of computing. After the migration the HPCC is capable of completing this in less than 9 months. See a publication [2] above.• Supervising, directing and mentoring students on their contribution to the HPCC and producing the following presentations exhibited at FDA on Augusr 24, 2010- “Molecular Dynamics Investigation of Polymeric Device Coatings.”- “Array Jobs Optimization.”- “RATTLE on High Performance Computing.”- “Software Migration to Multi-Core Systems.”
