About Mike MacOn

I have over 25 years of construction industry experience and demonstrated performance with teams, clients and partners in my current role as Senior Vice President and Business Unit Leader of our Georgia business. Notably, I led the company’s efforts on Buckhead Atlanta, a $1.5 billion luxury retail and mixed-use community in the heart of Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood that won the 2014 Atlanta Project of the Year by the Urban Land Institute (ULI).As part of the Southeast Division’s executive leadership team, I collaborate with business development personnel to strengthen client relationships, capture new prospects, and develop winning strategies for expanding opportunities. Leveraging my background in operations, I work closely with our project teams to ensure we are delivering on our promises and supporting our client\'s project goals. My wide range of experience in the corporate office, education, government, hospitality, multifamily residential, and retail markets is integral to achieving Balfour Beatty’s growth goals. Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to be part of some incredible teams while helping shape the skyline of Atlanta, Savannah, and points beyond through work on notable projects such as Buckhead Atlanta, the Thompson Hotel-Savannah, 309 East Paces Ferry, The Krog District, Icon Midtown, Whole Foods Midtown, Piedmont House, Novel Midtown, 14th & Spring Office Building, Hampton Inn & Suites-Midtown, The Osprey, Johns Creek City Hall, the “Workplace of the Future“ Atlanta Campus Renovation for the Coca-Cola Company, Atlanta Mission\'s Restoration House, The Borghese, The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation building, the Atlanta Falcons Player Housing complex and office expansion at the team’s Flowery Branch headquarters, Marietta Public Safety Complex, and the Terminus 100 office tower. I am active in several industry organizations and currently serve as an Executive Board Member for the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Georgia, Inc. I have served as a guest panelist at BisNow Atlanta Development & Construction Forums, the national International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) CenterBuild Conference, and Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) of Georgia events. Outside the office, I volunteer and support the Atlanta Mission and Make-A-Wish Georgia. I currently serve as a board member for Make-A-Wish Georgia. I also serve as a youth sports coach at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church and the East Side Baseball Association. I am a graduate of the University of Florida and hold a B.S. degree in building construction.
