Many of these tragedies are preventable and stem from distracted driving.For the past eleven years, I’ve served as Executive Director of the Lutzie 43 Foundation, leading our mission to eliminate distracted driving through education, awareness, and community engagement. Our foundation empowers individuals to become ambassadors for safe driving, working closely with high schools, universities, and corporate partners across the country.A cornerstone of our work is the “43 Key Seconds” initiative, which encourages drivers to take 43 seconds before starting their vehicle to ensure they have a clear head, clear hands, clear eyes, and are wearing a seatbelt.
