ABOUT MIKE LOVERIDGE

I am a Director of Learning, Educational Consultant/School Improvement Partner, Executive Coach, and former Headteacher with over 30 years of experience across mainstream, special, and residential education. My work is driven by a simple belief: every learner has the right to succeed, and schools thrive when leadership, teaching, and inclusion align to unlock potential.Currently, I serve as Director of Learning at Silverwood School, a multi-campus 4–19 special school in Wiltshire, where I lead on curriculum design, quality of education, leadership development, and school improvement. Under my leadership, Silverwood achieved a Good Ofsted rating (2023). I also contribute nationally as an accredited Lead Reviewer with Challenge Partners, conducting peer quality assurance reviews that shape school improvement strategies across England.My background includes roles as Headteacher at Rowdeford School and Deputy Headteacher at Kennet School (an outstanding 11–18 academy). Across these positions, I’ve built deep expertise in curriculum innovation, assessment systems, leadership capacity building, and creating inclusive environments where staff and students flourish.As a qualified coach and mentor, I provide executive coaching and tailored professional development for leaders at all levels. I’ve designed appraisal systems, introduced inclusive curriculum models, and supported leadership restructuring to strengthen succession planning and retention.My consultancy expertise spans the full spectrum of school improvement and leadership development. I support schools with strategic planning, assessment and curriculum redesign, ensuring provision is ambitious, inclusive, and evidence-informed. I am highly experienced in leadership coaching and mentoring, offering executive-level support, supervision, and capacity building to leaders in both mainstream and specialist settings. I bring extensive SEND expertise, with particular strengths in complex needs provision, admissions, and collaboration with local authorities. Through my work as an accredited Challenge Partners Lead Reviewer, I have conducted national peer reviews and evaluations that drive improvement across schools and trusts.I am passionate about creating happy, safe, and inclusive schools where every learner can exceed expectations and every educator can thrive. My goal is to continue supporting schools, leaders, and communities to achieve sustainable improvement and foster a love of learning for all.
