About Mike Lazusky

Teaching and coaching has been big parts of my career and teaming those skills has lead me to new challenges in athletic administration and enrollment management at The University of Olivet. As an athletic administrator I enjoy mentoring coaches and athletes, advancing game management and game day experiences, overseeing athletic facilities and working with student-athletes on maintaining their eligibility.As an enrollment management leader I value developing relationships with working professionals, international educational partners, professional organizations, and community colleges. The ultimate goal is to advance a comprehensive university and its portfolio of diverse programs.Prior to Olivet College I held the position of campus/regional director and assistant professor of business for Trine University′s School of Professional Studies, I continued to guide adult students as an academic advisor and online educator.I had been involved with many community service projects, but am most proud of the Carlin Park Elementary Mentorship Program that I started with the Trine football team in 2009. The program had consistently sent 40 to 50 football players into the school each week during the spring semester. Players assisted teachers with tutoring and class activities and built meaningful relationships with the students.Previously at Hiram College in Ohio, I was a faculty member and head coach for football and men′s and women′s track and field and director of facility operations. At Defiance College in Ohio, I was an instructor and an assistant coach for football and track and field. I was also an assistant football coach at Hillsdale College in Michigan and Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania. While at Shippensburg, I was the assistant to the associate athletic director, working with student–athlete eligibility, special events and fundraising.
