About Mike Nash
I am an impact junky who has spent my career at the intersection of technology, business strategy, and customer experience. Most recently, I served as the Chief Customer Experience Officer at HP. I joined HP in 2013 as VP of Product Management for consumer PCs, driving the turnaround of HP’s PC business. In 2015, I became SVP of the Customer Experience and Portfolio Strategy team, leading CX, innovation, and business development for Personal Systems. In 2016, I took on the additional role of CTO for PCs. For the last three years, I have been the Chief Customer Experience Officer for the entire company, leading CX measurement and improvement processes, journey mapping, and fostering a customer-centric culture. Before HP, I was a VP of Kindle at Amazon, where I led the team enabling third-party software developers to create applications for Kindles and managed Amazon’s digital cloud platform for Kindle. This included program management for two generations of Kindle and the creation of Amazon’s first Friends and Family Beta program. Prior to Amazon, I spent 19 years at Microsoft. I was the first product manager on Windows Server, leading business strategy, positioning, licensing, and pricing, which grew Microsoft’s server business to over 70% market share. I created Microsoft’s model for licensing servers that not only made servers more cost effective for customers but also became the industry standard for licensing servers. I led the product management team that created the BackOffice product offering. From to 2002, I was Corporate VP of the Content Development and Delivery team, managing MSDN, TechNet, Training and Certification, MS Press, and Microsoft.com. From 2002 to 2006, I was the founding CVP of Microsoft’s Security Business Unit, operationalizing Bill Gates’ vision for Trustworthy Computing. In my final role at Microsoft, I was the CVP of product management for Windows, overseeing policy, pricing, licensing, ecosystem readiness, and the launch of Windows 7. I hold a BS in computer science with a concentration in electrical engineering from Cornell University. After Cornell, I spent four years as a software developer and project leader at Data General Corporation, leading teams in the OS group. Between DG and Microsoft, I earned my MBA at Wharton, where I was a Palmer Scholar. I am an accomplished PR spokesperson and keynote speaker and enjoy engaging with customers and partners. I am most proud of the products and services I have created and the leaders I have mentored.
