I lead Microsoft’s global AI Governance and Legal (GELL) function. We support AI innovation and acceleration by ensuring Microsoft’s technology is safe, transparent, aligned to global standards and laws, while contributing to human flourishing. I have direct responsibility for enterprise risk management, board reporting, driving Microsoft’s overall regulatory, legal, and compliance strategy for AI. I serve as Microsoft’s representative to the Attorney General Alliance (AGA) forum and represent Microsoft before regulators globally. I also serve as interim lead for Microsoft’s Digital Safety Unit (DSU). The DSU is responsible for advancing global trust in Microsoft’s technology and experiences by ensuring every person is protected against harmful and illegal content online, ensuring our AI systems safeguard the most vulnerable, and by empowering secure user experiences across our entire digital ecosystem.
