ABOUT MIKE BROOKS

Mike is an experienced executive and adviser focused on driving growth in B2B software/Saas startups and scaleups. He brings a unique perspective given a breadth of experience building, leading & coaching a wide variety of teams - Executive/Leadership Teams, Partnering & Alliances, Sales & Marketing, Product/R&D, Client Services and Operations. He has deep experience in go-to-market strategy and in using strategic partnerships and corporate development deals to accelerate growth and achieve business goals.A few highlights:COO of FINCAD where he built a new Leadership Team and led the strategic planning process to develop a new enterprise analytics business. Bootstrapped this business and grew it 40% CAGR over 8 years. Collaborated with a talented Exec Team that prioritized building a great, transparent culture. Eight times the company was named one of BC’s 100 Top Employers.VP, Corporate Development at Business Objects where he worked closely with public company CEO, CFO and Board on strategy and m&a strategy and execution. Successfully analyzed, negotiated and integrated over $100M in acquisitions to accelerate company product and growth strategy.VP/Director Alliances at Crystal Decisions where he worked closely with the executive team and closed exclusive strategic partnerships with Microsoft, SAP and other industry leaders that were critical in driving company strategy and growth and led to millions of dollars in direct and indirect revenue. Mike has an MBA from the UBC Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia and a Mechanical Engineering degree from Queen’s University. Before his career in technology, he was an energy management consulting engineer and still has a passion for reducing energy use and waste.
