ABOUT MIKE BEIRNE

As Commercial Director at Hess Corporation, I bring over 20 years of experience in global energy negotiations. My expertise lies in structuring, negotiating, and managing complex energy transactions across various markets and regions worldwide.I collaborate with international energy companies, national oil companies, and host governments to negotiate transactions that include asset purchase and sale agreements, bid round qualifications, farmout agreements, financing agreements, crude oil lifting agreements, and LNG/gas sales agreements. Currently, I lead Hess\'s commercial strategy and negotiations for Global Exploration and New Ventures, focusing on regions such as Guyana, the Gulf of America, South America, Canada, and other Atlantic Margin basins. I am dedicated to advancing the profession of energy negotiation and sharing my experiences with others. As a past President of the Association of International Energy Negotiators (AIEN), I actively contribute to developing new model form contracts, enhancing educational programs, and expanding networking opportunities for energy negotiators worldwide. I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honors) from the University of Kentucky, where I was a varsity football player and a three-time Academic All-Southeastern Conference honoree.
