About Mike Houser
Having already graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, come May I will be receiving my master’s degree in Energy Systems Engineering (both of which from the University of Maryland). Specializing in the decarbonization of the energy sector and increasing access to energy in emerging economies, I have been able to research the feasibility of wind in urban areas, individually study novel carbon capture power cycles, and create off-grid solar photovoltaic systems in Uganda. Now that graduation is around the corner, I am looking for a technical job at a large energy utility company, energy research institution, or nonprofit working in the international development industry where I can put to use my knowledge and skills I have acquired at the University level.
