Develop and implement an integrated strategic regulatory plan to advance the Auto Innovators’ mission, support the strategic objectives of its membership, and achieve thought leadership within the vehicle safety regulatory ecosystem. • Identify challenges and emerging issues faced by the organization. Work with the leadership team and staff to recognize internal and external safety and potential non-regulatory opportunities and solutions; define and execute appropriate strategies to support them. • Lead and manage technical work groups for automated driving systems (AVs), advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), crash avoidance technologies, advanced vehicle lighting (including adaptive driving beam), sound requirements for hybrid and electric vehicles, driver monitoring systems, sideview camera monitoring systems, and more. • Partner with DOT and NGOs to develop and endorse common nomenclature for broad ADAS technologies. • Promote the development of internationally harmonized performance requirements that are appropriate for potential implementation under either UNECE58 or 98 agreements, including the harmonized development of AV standards. • Lead and manage the promotion of association policy advocating NCAP process improvements that are built on the establishment and maintenance of mid to long-term safety opportunity road maps. • Collaboratively develop policy positioning with the broader Auto Innovators policy committees to provide appropriate input on legislative actions from Congress as well as other governmental agencies outside of NHTSA (e.g, NTSB, FCC, and other DOT agencies).
