About Mike Heitzke

With over 13 years of design experience across multiple mediums and industries, I was most recently a design manager at HashiCorp, where I led a team of designers focused on building and establishing developer.hashicorp.com as the central learning place for practitioners. We planned and executed the consolidation of nine disparate informational sites to a centralized learning hub, which we launched in October 2022 at HashiConf.As a servant leader, I am passionate about growing both new and existing design teams, investing in designers, their process, careers, and health. I develop and focus on new opportunities in both new and mature products through research, discovery, and a human-centered design process. I also enjoy giving back to the design community as a part-time mentor on ADPlist, where I was voted one of the Top 100 most impactful mentors in 2022. I offer perspective, thoughts, career advice, portfolio review, and general design feedback to aspiring and experienced designers.
