Found in DOEs an interaction between a process positioning variable and a test equipment positioning variable which caused a yield loss & customer returns. • Determined the source of film jamming and implemented an equipment modification. • Validated new metrology equipment & fixtures for pouch fiducial & AWL alignments. • Working with facilities, finished BioChem plumbing in 1001 with passing 24 hr leak rates.• Process Mapping & 8D analysis found problems with static & loose dispense tips causing scale inaccuracies on BioMeks and then implemented fixes. Qualified to production release a new carrier wafer thinning process flow with 5 new operations, 7 new tools and 3 new materials (Fairchild). Released a new high vacuum mixed metal sputter on silicon process with 3 new materials and 2 new silicon preparation steps (BRM). Released a passivation re-design which saved millions (Fairchild). Process Mapping: Used extreme detail process maps to guide to the discovery of yield improvement treasures. Non-conformity 8D root cause: Used 8D Is / Is Not tables to find what was different, special or unique to explain a problem statement. These tables were key to separate noise from cause. DOE: Implemented Design Of Experiments characterizations to reduce scrap and increase yields. Used JMP or Minitab software to analyze data from screening or optimization designs. Reports, Documentation & Data Analysis: Wrote hundreds of technology report reviews on problems and work instructions documenting how to perform processes. Designed experiments, analyzed data and then wrote summary reports to justify improvement or troubleshooting needs. Used MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, MiniTab & JMP statistics for reports and analysis.
