ABOUT MIKE FURSIER

During my 20-year career, I have excelled in a wide range of roles in the construction industry, working for owners, consultants and contractors. This breadth of experience is only matched by geographical diversity. As my career has developed I have been given increasing responsibility for contract administration and commercial management. I have a 1st Class honours degree in Civil Engineering and am a Chartered Project Management Surveyor with the RICS. I bring a solid understanding of Financial and Commercial Management, with my previous responsibilities including Commercial Manager, Canada for a global consultancy, as well as project experience gained in the UK, Middle East and Canada. This has allowed me to influence discussions regarding contract form, procurement strategy – including process and evaluation – constructability, phasing and handover. I am excellent at stakeholder management, having been in the role of Contractor, Consultant and Client representative. My communication skills include a high level of competency both written and orally. I have an excellent level of knowledge of the MS Office suite and I am proficient in AutoCAD and Primavera P6. I am also able to quickly understand technical details from the relevant industry or, alternatively, simplify issues, depending on the audience. I am experienced at undertaking presentations to high profile project stakeholders, whilst being equally comfortable in meetings at site level, being where I started my career. I have presented to industry associations at both national and local conferences.
