ABOUT MIKE CARR
Well after 41 years working in the scaffolding industry and having been associated with it through my Father’s company since I was a boy the time has come to retire (again!)33 years at NSG - completing two MBO’s and selling the company twice, latterly to Altrad. Then tempted out of retirement to complete a corporate turnaround of Palmers Scaffolding UK for the last six years. Arrived when the company had a turnover of £18M and was losing £1M - left with a turnover of £38M and £5M Net profit. I would like to thank the team that achieved this with me, whose hard work, dedication, commitment and honesty, resulted in a miraculous turnaround. I am particularly proud of our 1 million man hours plus without a lost time accident and a number of very high profile projects safely completed, including but not limited to our Project at Liverpool St Station for Morgan Sindall and Tame Valley Viaduct for Volker Fitzpatrick. Also a number of high profile repair and maintenance and new major construction projects across the UK. I would like to thank Colin Butt (Chairman) for the opportunity and wish all the staff my best wishes for a successful future.
