ABOUT MIKE BRESNEN

Mike joined Manchester Metropolitan University Business School in May 2018, having previously worked as a Professor of Organisation Studies at Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, Professor of Organisational Behaviour at the University of Leicester School of Management (20••••08), Lecturer and Senior Lecturer at Warwick Business School (19••••03), Lecturer at Cardiff Business School (19••••94) and Research Fellow at Loughborough University, Department of Social Sciences (19••••87). He holds a PhD and a first class degree in Industrial Economics, both from the University of Nottingham. Mike\'s research is primarily concerned with understanding innovation, knowledge, networking and learning processes within and between organizations. He has been principal investigator on a number of large recent ESRC and EPSRC research projects investigating innovation processes, knowledge management, inter-organizational relations, project management and project-based learning across a range of sectors, including manufacturing, construction, biomedical and healthcare. His research interests also include leadership, managers and professionals and this is reflected in his involvement in recent NIHR-funded research on understanding knowledge mobilization and utilization by healthcare managers. He has also published extensively on the organization and management of the construction process. He was a founding member of the Health Services Research Centre at Manchester Business School in 2015, as well as a founding member and former Co-Director (19••••03) of the Innovation, Knowledge and Organizational Networks research centre (IKON), based at Warwick Business School, where he has also been an Associate Fellow. Since he has been an Associate Editor of Organization and also serves on a number of editorial boards in the business/management and construction/project management fields.
