About Mike Bowers
Clients turn to me for my representation both inside and outside the courtroom. Practicing law for more than 43 years, I also have more than 20 years of mediation experience serving clients outside the courtroom, achieving successful results through arbitrations, mediations, and all forms of alternative dispute resolution. As a certified circuit court mediator certified circuit court arbitrator (1998), and an approved federal court mediator, I have conducted numerous mediations focusing on the mediation of state court, federal court, pre-lawsuit, complex, and multi-party disputes, involving a wide range of issues. My legal and technical experience have made me a logical choice for parties searching for an experienced and knowledgeable neutral to help resolve their disputes, whether through mediation or arbitration. On the litigation side of my practice, I represent a broad range of industries and focus on defending complex cases in the areas of products liability, toxic tort, construction defects, and insurance law. A resident of Charleston, South Carolina, I am the former South Carolina State Representative for Defense Research Institute and former President of the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association. Before entering private practice, I was Assistant Attorney General for the State of South Carolina in the Litigation Section. In addition to my practice, I love to play golf and I have a particular interest in the architecture of golf courses. I am also the former president of the Country Club of Charleston.
