About Mike Raab

My journey has been guided by a fearless commitment to patient care and innovation, inspired by the breakthroughs achieved by my dedicated team. I have served as Ardelyx’s President and Chief Executive Officer since March 2009. Before joining Ardelyx, I was a partner at New Enterprise Associates (NEA), one of the world’s largest and most successful venture capital firms, where I specialized in healthcare investments focusing on the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors. Prior to joining NEA, I spent 15 years in commercial and operating leadership roles in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries. Notably, I was the senior vice president of therapeutics and general manager of the renal division at Genzyme Corporation, a Sanofi company. In this position, I launched and oversaw the sales growth of sevelamer, the leading phosphate binder for the treatment of hyperphosphatemia, with over $1.0 billion in worldwide sales in 2013. I was also instrumental in the worldwide launch of Genzyme’s therapies for Gaucher disease, Ceredase and Cerezyme. Additionally, I spent two years with Genzyme’s diagnostic products and services division. Before joining Genzyme, I held business development, sales, and marketing positions at Repligen and Bristol-Myers Squibb. I am driven by my team working to enhance the care and well-being of underserved patients. They motivate me every day and embody our responsibility to serve millions of patients worldwide who suffer from diseases with limited or ineffective treatments.
