About Mihai B.
My work focuses on quantitative modeling for trading across a number of time frames, strategies and asset classes.Before this I worked at Google Research where among other things, I got my skills in large scale engineering and building systems (still useful). There I worked on mobile, quality/ranking, ads, video, vision, maps, community, large scale infrastructure, machine learning, and data analysis.I did my undergrad (math, cs) and PhD at MIT and I am a trained theoretical computer scientist, focusing on algorithms. My PhD thesis was on high dimensional embeddings.(see publications) My Erdos number is 2.I had shot stints at Akamai and Bell Labs.I used to participate in programming competitions, where I got top results, including ACM World Finals, International Olympiad in Informatics, Central European Olympiad in Informatics, Balkan Olympiad in Informatics, and US and Romanian nationals.[I\'m not looking for jobs, so please do not contact me about that.]
