ABOUT MIGUEL DEANON

I am currently in my third year at the University of Alberta, pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce Co-Op degree with a concentration in Human Resources. I have 6+ years of service-oriented experience, starting with McDonald\'s where I acquired my first management experience, then later on toward sales work and operations with Foot Locker and Canada Goose. I am also an Internal Coordinator for AlbertaSat, a STEAM student club at the University of Alberta centred on aerospace technology. Here I practice and hone my favourite HR functions, recruitment and employee relations. During the year 2023, I have onboarded and coordinated 100+ students, reviewing and examining applications and CVs, all the while ensuring that AlbertaSat culture is properly introduced. Most importantly, I get to partake in a STEAM environment that spurs me on to learn more about the aerospace industry.In my spare time, I like to self-study philosophy - particularly metaphysical and existential works. My favourite philosopher at the time is Søren Kierkegaard!In the future, I aim to acquire my CPHR designation and enter the HR field as a people-oriented person with a passion for cultivating a rich workplace culture and even richer interpersonal relationships within an organization.
