ABOUT MIGUEL CORTEL-LEBLANC

I am an Emergency Medicine specialist at The Ottawa Hospital and a Headache Medicine physician at the Ottawa Headache Centre, with a clinical and academic focus on neurological emergencies and headache disorders. My work spans acute care and specialty headache medicine, with particular interests in CSF-leaks and spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH), trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias (TACs), and secondary headache disorders.I am driven to advance headache management in the emergency department and have a vision that patients that present to the emergency department with headache will receive top-tier acute headache care and be discharged with therapy that improves disability.Outside of my clinical roles, I am actively involved in patient safety initiatives, medical education, public speaking, provision of subject matter expertise, and medico-legal consulting.
