About Catherine Mignon Huckabay

I am currently a J.D. Candidate at Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. In May 2021, I graduated from Louisiana State University with a double major in Business and Psychology along with a minor in Entrepreneurship. Being able to experience two very diverse majors has given me the opportunity to delve into two diverse interests of mine as well as expose me to a variety of opportunities that I would not have been able to discover without pursuing both majors. In addition, double majoring in college has given me the opportunity to improve my time management and organizational skills. Throughout high school and into college, I worked for Kammer and Huckabay law firm. Working here sparked my interest in law. It was here that I was able to interact with clients and get my first taste of what it is like to be an attorney. During my time at LSU, I worked for Jones Walker Law Firm in Baton Rouge, and this experience has helped to not only deepen my passion for law but has also increased my drive to attend law school. At Jones Walker, I was able to work hands on with the lawyers and their secretaries to aid in the legal process and keep the office running smoothly. Experiencing this fast paced, professional environment made me eager to continue to grow and learn more about the field of law as a whole. I am determined, highly motivated, and possess a strong work ethic, all of which I will carry with me into my future career as an attorney. My persistence and commitment to constantly expand my knowledge is a quality that I exercise in every course, experience, and job that I participate.
